The second leg of the World Athletics Continental Tour stop in Canada, the Jerome Track Classic, arrives Tuesday at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, B.C., with the attention shifting from Alberta to British Columbia.

The pair of Canadian meets are part of an effort to appeal to potential sponsors as he attempts to make the leap into professional track and field.

Clay, who born and raised in Japan before coming to the United States for college, is one of a dozen or more athletes making the short trip over to Vancouver.

Sarah Mitton, who won the shot put and broke the Foote Field record on Sunday, leads the list of Canadians making the trip to Harry Jerome.

Mitton threw 20.20m (66-3.25) for the victory after winning her sixth consecutive Canadian outdoor title in June.

Rowan Hamilton, a member of the Richmond, B.C.-based Kajaks Track  Club, will compete in the men’s hammer. He was second in Edmonton behind American Alex Young.

Jacqueline Madogo, a 2024 Olympian for Canada in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4x100 relay, is due to race in the 100.

Zion Corrales Nelson, who grew up in the neighborhood in Burnaby and represents The Philippines in international competition, is also set to return to Swangard Stadium. She broke the Filipino national record in the women’s 100 meters earlier this year when she ran 11.19.

De’Vion Wilson, who finished second in the 110-meter hurdles in Edmonton in 13.30w, will also return to Harry Jerome. Wilson will be racing for the third time in less than a week. He ran 13.20w at the Ed Murphey Classic in Memphis on Friday.

Jamaican 400-meter hurdles champion Assinie Wilson, who finished second in Edmonton in a time of 48.85 seconds, is also entered in Tuesday’s meet.

Adrianna Buitelaar, from Abbotsford, B.C., won the Canadian U20 title in the women’s 3,000 meters in 9:19.29 and is preparing for the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene next month.

Kimberly Beard, a recent graduate of King's High in Seattle, the Nike Outdoor Nationals champion, is entered in the women's hammer.
